Smart IR are a useful function when you have a scenario with a target that can be really close or really far for the camera. The Smart IR function can help us to have always the best illumination of the target in night mode.With an IP camera you can enable this setting just through the Web interface, but how to activate them with an Analog camera?
Step 1:
Enter in the menu OSD of the camera
We can enter the OSD of the camera in different ways: Through the video output interface of the XVR, through the software DSS Express or Smart PSS, or through the Web interface of the XVR. We First, enter the Web interface of your XVR:
Then, start the live view of the camera that you want to have the Smart IR enable:
Then, you just need to press the small arrow on the right, to show more PTZ option, then go on PTZ menu, and then press the button in the center of the controller:
As you can see on your screen you will have different text, that is the confirmation that you entered the OSD menu of your camera.
Step 2:
Go to the Smart IR setting of the OSD menu
Move up and down using the arrow on the box until you arrive at the Advanced setting, then press the central button:
At this point you will see a new window on your screen, here use again the arrows to arrive to select the Smart IR setting:
Now you can just use the right arrow to switch the setting from “IR normally closed” to Auto
Step 3:
Exit and save the configuration
After that you change the setting of the camera, you need to save the new setting and exit from the OSD menu.

To do that, first go back on the main menu using the arrows to arrive to “Return”, and then press the center button to confirm:
Now, always using the arrows go down until you are on exit, and then press again the center button to exit from the OSD menu:
After that you do that, you just have to save the new configuration. A new window will pop up, that will ask you if you want to save your setting, just confirm with “Yes “using the center button:
Now you have correctly enabled the Smart IR of your camera and are ready to use it on your installation.
Note:
The OSD of the camera might be different of the one showed in this manual. Also, if the interface is a bit different, if the camera support the Smart IR you will always be able to find it in the OSD menu.
